The Korean Women’s National Basketball Team suffered a 20-point defeat in the second game of an exhibition against Latvia.

The Korean Women’s National Basketball Team lost 50-76 in its second exhibition game against Latvia at Riga Arena in Latvia on Nov. 11 (KST). The 26-point loss was worse than the 60-82, 22-point defeat in the first exhibition game on Tuesday.

Park Ji-soo, who had 15 points and 10 rebounds in the first game, finished with 11 points and five rebounds in 13 minutes, 53 seconds in the second game. Kang Yiul made three of eight three-point attempts and scored 10 points in 18 minutes and three seconds.

Park and Kang were the only two Koreans to score in double figures, but Latvia had four players in double figures.

The physical disadvantage also led to a large rebounding difference. Latvia grabbed 47 rebounds, including 12 offensive rebounds, while Korea only managed 26 rebounds (9 offensive). Park Ji-soo only grabbed five rebounds.

To offset that, South Korea had 16 steals, forcing 22 turnovers, but the offense was not as smooth, with South Korea committing 15 miscues as well. They also shot just 26.6% from the field. They took 64 shots, but only 17 hit the rim. Latvia, on the other hand, made 24 of 52 attempts (46.2%).스포츠토토

They also attempted 25 three-pointers, more than Latvia’s 14, but made only six, the same as Latvia. Efficiency was poor. Especially in the fourth quarter, when they went scoreless. The score was 50-56 at the end of the third quarter, but they went scoreless in the fourth quarter and gave up 20 points.

As it was an exhibition game, South Korea had 12 players on the court, all of whom stayed on the court for more than six minutes.

The team will return home to rebuild and prepare for the 2023 FIBA Asia Cup in Sydney, Australia, starting on July 27. They are drawn in Group A alongside China, New Zealand and Lebanon.
