The 17th National Disabled Students Sports Festival, a grand festival for young athletes with disabilities held in Ulsan Metropolitan City, concluded a 4-day fierce battle.
Gyeonggi-do won the most medals at the event, which ended on the 19th, with 80 gold medals, 61 silver medals, and 47 bronze medals.
Chungbuk (63 gold medals, 47 silver medals, 30 bronze medals) and Chungnam (37 gold medals, 47 silver medals, 40 bronze medals) followed.
Host Ulsan won 33 gold, 34 silver and 41 bronze medals.
Swimmer Kim Jin-heon (Pogok Middle School) and Yeo Eun-byeol (Hoeryong Middle School) won 5 gold medals side by side, taking home the most gold medals in the competition.
A total of 3,479 people (1,639 players, 1,840 executives and officials) from 17 cities and provinces nationwide competed in good faith in 17 events.스포츠토토
The Korea Paralympic Sports Association (KPSA) has developed 17 sports (goalball, boccia, swimming, track and field, table tennis), popular sports (basketball, disc golf, volleyball, badminton, bowling, weightlifting, rowing, soccer, floorball, e-sports), and demonstrations. It was operated by classifying events (shullun) and exhibition events (showdown).
The Paralympic Sports Association said, “The training event focused on discovering excellent athletes targeting the Paralympic Games (Paralympics), and the supply event focused on expanding the base of sports for everyday life.”
The next competition will be held in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do from May 14th to 17th next year.
