KIA Tigers Geopo prospect Byun Woo-hyeok made a hot transfer report in the first room.

Byun Woo-hyuk made a big success with 2 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 points in 4 at-bats, including a two-run home run, in an exhibition game against the Doosan Bears held at the Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on the 19th. It was the first hot blow to the home fans since his transfer.

Byun Woo-hyeok, who started as first baseman in the fifth, struck out Doosan starter Choi Seung-yong in the first at-bat in the second inning, striking out on a swing. However, he came out as the leadoff batter in the fifth and hit a double that went over the key to left field. 안전놀이터

He saw it as a home run and walked slowly, but when the ball hit the fence, he hurriedly ran to second base. He presented his first long hit to 5,000 home fans who visited the stadium.

Moreover, Choi Seung-yong, who was fighting hard with only one hit and seven strikeouts until the 4th inning, succeeded in attacking. KIA used Byun Woo-hyuk’s one shot as a stepping stone to score 3 points and turn around.

In the third at-bat in the 6th inning, he struck out again, but the last at-bat was hot. In the middle of the 6-1 run, Doosan pitcher Kim Ji-yong lifted a slider that fell slightly into the middle of the second pitch in the first out and second base, leading to a 110m home run. It was the first cannon in the demonstration game.

Byun Woo-hyuk made a debut with a multi-hit game, including heavy hits in the 2nd and 8th innings in the game the previous day. The next day, he had a slugging ceremony with a double and a home run. Until his first RBI, he gave a gift set in the living room.

He did a good job in his offense and defense, performing smoothly as a first base defense.

Byun Woo-hyeok is a right-handed hitter prospect that KIA recruited in exchange for 150km pitcher Han Seung-hyeok after last season. In the spring camp, he hit 2 homers and hit 303.3, raising expectations.

Even in his exhibition matches, he is not disappointing his expectations. He has a high-sensitivity batting average of 7 hits in 18 at-bats with a batting average of 3.8 and 9 Lee. He is competing with Hwang Dae-in for first base.

After the game, Byun Woo-hyuk said about the home run situation, “I was aiming for the outside slider, but I came in with a mistake in the middle of the body. It was good to hit it as I went out without missing it. I thought that I should throw away all the breaking balls for the double and not be fooled by the fastball, and the timing was right for the first ball.” Explained.

The reason for maintaining a steady batting condition was timing. As advised by hitting coach Lee Bum-ho, he put a lot of effort into moving his lower body and adjusting the timing, and it is showing up as a performance in practice. He revealed, “I’m preparing the same as the camp. I keep practicing with the same timing, but it’s getting better and better.”

He also thanked his home fans. “My first home game was on a weekend, so I received a lot of support from the fans. That’s why I think I did better. I feel comfortable. /sunny@osen.co.kr
