‘Rookie’ Yoo Hae-ran raised the possibility of her first win by reaching the top of the third round of the LPGA Tour’s JM Eagle LA Championship.
In the third round of the JM Eagle LA Championship on the LPGA Tour held at the Wilshire Country Club (par 71) in Los Angeles, California on the 30th (Korean time), Hae-Ran Yu tied 6 birdies and 2 bogeys to hit 4 under par 67.
Yu Hae-ran, who recorded an interim total of 7 under par 206, was tied for second place with Hannah Green. He is two strokes behind the sole leader, Cheyenne Knight.
Yoo Hae-ran entered the U.S. stage last year by passing the LPGA Qualifying Tournament as the top player. He is in the top ranks until the 3rd round of this tournament, aiming for his first win on the American stage.
On this day, Yoo Hae-ran caught a birdie from the first hole. Afterwards, he wrote down bogeys on the 3rd hole, but reduced the number of strokes on the 7th and 9th holes. A bogey came out on the 11th hole and seemed to break the uptrend, but I caught birdies on the 13th and 14th holes in a row. He cut another stroke on the 16th hole, once taking the lead.ㅋㅋㅋ벳
However, Knight, who started the game later, gave up the lead by catching an eagle on the 13th hole and a birdie on the 17th hole.
After the match, Yoo Hae-ran said, “I played in the championship group at the Drive On Championship, but I want to show a different image from then.”
Knight, who finished the third round as the sole leader, aims for his second personal victory four years after the Volunteers of America Classic in 2019.
Annalin tied for 7th with an interim total of 4 under par 209 strokes. Kim Hyo-joo is tied for 24th with an interim total of 1 under par and 212 strokes. Kim In-kyung, who recorded a hole-in-one the day before, tied for 31st with Ji Eun-hee and others.
Ko Jin-young, who is ranked third in the world, was sluggish with a 4-over par that day and tied for 53rd.
