The Samsung Lions completed a three-game weekend sweep with a dramatic come-from-behind victory in front of their home fans.

The Lions won their sixth game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against the Lotte Giants 6-4 in 10 innings of extra innings at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on Nov. 11, extending their winning streak to two games.

Starting pitcher Baek Jung-hyun did not get the win, but he earned his fifth quality start (QS) of the season with six innings of five-hit ball, one walk, three strikeouts, and two runs. Right-hander Lee Seung-hyun, left-hander Lee Seung-hyun, Seung-hwan Oh, and Hong Jung-woo pitched one inning each, and Hong Jung-woo, who was hit by a home run off Yoon Dong-hee, saved the day.

The batting lineup was highlighted by the presence of ‘veteran’ Kang Min-ho. With two hits in five at-bats, Kang Min-ho sent the home fans into a frenzy with a walk-off home run off Kim Do-gyu in the bottom of the 10th inning. The tablesetters Kim Ji-chan and Kim Hyun-jun, who combined for five hits, also contributed to the team’s victory.

After the game, head coach Park Jin-man praised Baek Jung-hyun’s performance, saying, “Although he didn’t get the win as a starter, he pitched his heart out and laid the foundation for the victory.”스포츠토토

“Kim Ji-chan and Kim Hyun-joon also showed their table-setting hitting and base running, and Kang Min-ho gave the fans a great gift with his game-winning home run to end the weekend classic series in blue,” he smiled.

After finishing the week with three wins and three losses, Samsung will take a day off before traveling to the Seoul Metropolitan Area on the 13th. The team will face the LG Twins in Jamsil on April 13-15, followed by a three-game series against the KT Wiz in Suwon on April 16-18.
