Oh Hyun-gyu (22-Celtic) visited his ‘home’ stadium, Suwon Samsung. The home fans gave him a warm welcome.
Suwon ended the first half of their Hana OneQ K League 2023 Round 18 home match against Incheon United at 7 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Suwon World Cup Stadium without scoring.
Oh Hyun-gyu came to the game during halftime and greeted the fans. Dressed comfortably, Oh said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve visited the Big Bird (Suwon’s home stadium). I’m also watching from Scotland,” he said.
The Big Bird was excited about Oh’s appearance. Many fans greeted his arrival with strong applause and cheers. He walked around the field and gave fans autographs. Fans stood up from their seats and waved to him, saying, “I want an autograph.
After returning to Suwon after about five months, Oh Hyun-gyu said, “Thank you for welcoming me. I want the fans to know that I will always be with Suwon. I’m always grateful. Whether I’m at Celtic or wherever I am, please give me a lot of support.”
Oh left Suwon in January to join Celtic (Scotland). He joined his new team midway through the 2022-23 season, but settled in well. He started as a backup striker and scored six goals in all competitions, making an immediate impact on the Scottish scene. Within five months of joining Celtic, Oh won the league, FA Cup, and League Cup, helping the club to a triple treble.
Oh made his professional debut in a Suwon jersey in 2019 and played for the club for three seasons, excluding his time as a commercial. A graduate of Matan Middle and Matan High School, Oh is one of Suwon’s best strikers. He scored 14 goals last year to save Suwon from relegation.스포츠토토
