Jules Kunde is looking increasingly likely to part ways with Barcelona, and is attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. However, Barcelona are unlikely to meet his demands.
According to Spain’s Sport, “Barcelona have decided to listen to offers for Kunde, who is unhappy with his role in the team. They believed the situation could be reversed, but that could change if Chelsea or Manchester United interfere. Barcelona will not negotiate an offer below 75 million euros ($1,063 million).”
Kunde, a French defender born in 1998, joined Barcelona ahead of this season. Barcelona beat off competition from Chelsea to sign Kunde from Sevilla for a reported €50 million ($66.6 billion). He signed a five-year contract.
But after just one season, dissatisfaction bubbled up. Kunde hasn’t played in his natural position of center back all season. Only nine of the 27 league games were played at center back, with the rest being played at right back. Kunde was pushed to the sidelines as coach Chavi Hernandez started the Andreas Christensen-Ronald Araujo combination.
It’s unclear if he’ll return to center back next season. Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Inigo Martinez. Xavi has also been using left-back Marcos Alonso as a center-back recently, so the competition is even stiffer.
If Kunde were to hit the transfer market, there are plenty of teams that would be in the running. Kunde’s athleticism and ball skills are excellent. His quick feet make him a complete defender. He’d be a starter for any team.스포츠토토
However, the transfer fee is the key. Even the biggest clubs won”t be able to pay Barcelona”s €75 million asking price. Barcelona still sees Kunde as the future of the team.
The club wants Kunde’s departure to be finalized quickly. “Barcelona want Kunde’s transfer to be finalized as soon as possible. They need to finalize two sales before June 30. After Kunde’s departure, they need to strengthen their defense on the flanks.”
