ISU Group (Chairman Kim Sang-bum) will host the largest 3×3 basketball tournament in Korea.
The company announced that it will host the “2023 ISU Challenge Festa 3×3,” a 3×3 basketball tournament for amateur teams in the general college division, from June 22 to 24 at the Seongnam Indoor Gymnasium (preliminary round) and Hanam Star Field (main round).
Organized and hosted by ISU Group, the 3×3 basketball tournament, which was previously held in 2019 under the name of ISU 3×3 Basket Challenge 2019, will be held for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 era.
As the largest single basketball tournament in Korea, the total prize money is worth about 9 million won, and as the name suggests, it is not just a sports event, but a festival where people enjoy each other through a common brand.
In particular, a major change from the first edition four years ago is that the tournament will be held at Starfield Hanam, where there is a lot of foot traffic, rather than an indoor gym. The strategy is to visit the public directly and spread the thrill of 3×3 basketball and the purpose of sports entertainment.
As a basketball festival on a 3×3 court, there will be plenty of events. Celebrity performances by famous singers such as ‘Slam Duck Hoo’, a comedian who plays basketball, Korea’s leading b-boy group ‘Fusion MC’, Korea’s first basketball performance girl group ‘W Girls’, and hip-hop duo ‘Dynamic Duo’ will be held. In addition, various events and pop-up stores will be held in the Gourmet Atrium located near the basketball court for players, families, and friends to participate in.
The tournament is open only to purely amateur teams that are not registered with the Korea Basketball Association, KBL, or 3-on-3 professional leagues. Teams will compete in a group stage, followed by a tournament in the main event to determine the winner. As the interest and popularity of women’s 3×3 has been gradually expanding in recent years, a women’s division (four-player team) has also been established.스포츠토토
“During the coronavirus pandemic, we realized that ‘sports are meaningless without spectators,’ and we are pleased to hold the tournament again after four years,” said Jo Yo-han, Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy at ISU Group. “I think it is very important to operate with the motto of ‘together’ and ‘together’ in order to enjoy the competition. This is also the purpose of this tournament. Therefore, in addition to the tournament, we have organized interesting extracurricular programs such as performances and events. We look forward to the public’s interest and support.”
