Yongmago pitcher Jang Hyun-seok, one of the biggest names in high school, threw a perfect game. While he was pitching a perfect game, the game was suspended due to rain and was declared a suspended game after waiting 104 minutes.
Yongmago played Gwangju Gungang in the second game of the Cheongnyonggi National High School Championship at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul on the 18th.
Jang Hyun-seok entered the game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, trailing 0-1. Kang Chae-woon, the starting pitcher, gave up an infield single with runners on second and third in the first inning. Jang Hyun-seok has faced seven batters, allowing no runs on no hits, no walks, and five strikeouts. His pitch count was 26.
The game was suspended in the top of the fifth inning with Yongmago on first and one out due to heavy rain. The game was suspended at 10:32 a.m. and we waited over an hour for the rain to stop.
When the rain finally stopped, the umpires declared the game a suspended game at 12:16 p.m. The match between Yongmago and Gwangju Gongyang will resume at 8:00 am on the 19th.
