Oakland Athletics Shintaro Fujinami (29) was hit in his major league debut.

Fujinami started the match against the Los Angeles Angels at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California, USA on the 2nd (Korean time) and recorded a loss with 5 hits, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts and 8 runs in 2⅓ innings.

Fujinami, who recorded 57 wins, 54 losses, and an ERA of 3.41 in 189 Japanese professional baseball games (994⅓ innings), competed as a rival with Shohei Ohtani (Angels), now the biggest star in the major leagues, during his high school days. As for the evaluation as a pitcher, Fujinami was better, but he did not grow as much as expected.  토토사이트

Fujinami, who realized his dream of advancing to the major leagues by signing a contract with Oakland for 3.25 million dollars (approximately 4.3 billion won) this season, had a pitching match with rival Ohtani in his debut game. The result was Fujinami’s complete defeat. Ohtani played an active role with 2 hits, 1 RBI and 1 run in 5 at-bats, including 1 RBI hit by Fujinami at the right time, and Fujinami was beaten and became a losing pitcher.

Daily Sports, a Japanese media outlet, said, “Fujinami was knocked out. Ohtani also blocked it until the second inning, but collapsed in the third. Fujinami’s sluggishness was reported, saying, “I was replaced after struggling, such as allowing Ohtani to hit the left wall directly.”

“I feel honored to be on the big league mound once,” said Fujinami, who unfortunately finished his major league debut. But he can’t just stand on the mound. It was a disappointing debut, so I will try to make up for it next time.”

Regarding the confrontation with Ohtani, Fujinami said, “Ohtani is not the only one. It was good to be able to play against the best players in the world.” When asked if she saw Ohtani celebrate after making a hit, she replied, “I didn’t.”

Fujinami pitched well until the second inning. His best four-seam velocity was 99.6 miles per hour (160.3 km). Fujinami, who said, “I don’t think it was bad,” said, “It wasn’t that my condition was bad overall. As much as he was, he was also a little unfair. He seems to have thrown too many breaking balls while getting hits. It would have been nice if he had taken advantage of my strengths a little more boldly,” he said, unable to hide his regret. /fpdlsl72556@osen.co.kr
