SSG Landers clinched the best-of-seven series with a come-from-behind victory on Saturday night.
SSG extended its winning streak to two games with an 8-5 victory over SSG in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on Sunday.
Starting pitcher Kim Kwang-hyun gave up three runs on six hits (one home run) in five innings with five walks and four strikeouts, while Choi Min-jun followed with two runs in one inning. However, a no-hit relay by Ko Hyo-joon, Lee Irene, and Seo Jin-yong set the stage for the victory.
At the plate, Jeon Eui-san, who hit a come-from-behind three-run double in the bottom of the eighth, went 2-for-4, while Ahn Sang-hyun, who came off the bench, went 2-for-2 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Veteran Choo Shin-soo also had a multi-hit game for the second straight day, especially when the bats came together to score seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, including an RBI single by Jeon.
After the game, SSG head coach Kim Won-hyung said, “Kang Jin-sung and Ahn Sang-hyun singled in the bottom of the order, and Choo Shin-soo came through again, leading to a big chance.” From there, Choi Jung, Eredia, and Choi Ju-hwan showed relentless focus. These processes were the driving force behind Jeon’s final hit,” he said, praising the batters.스포츠토토
He also said, “Jeon Ui-san’s multi-hit game gave the team a valuable final out. I hope they can use today as an opportunity to show more confidence at the plate,” he said, adding, “Today was a victory for the Bears’ cohesion and focus in the eighth inning.
Coach Kim Won-hyung said, “The fans made it a full house, and I think the players gave them a gift with a great game. It was a game that showed that you can’t give up until the end. The players worked hard,” he said.
SSG will try to sweep the series on the 18th with Roenis Elias in the starting lineup.
