The Los Angeles Dodgers swept a doubleheader from Miami.
The Dodgers won the second game of a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins, 3-1, on Tuesday (April 20) at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, to extend their winning streak to two games following a 3-1 victory in game one of the doubleheader.
Mookie Betts hit back-to-back home runs and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. They were his 33rd and 34th home runs of the season. Freddie Freeman, Ahmed Rosario and Enrique Hernandez also had hits.
Starting pitcher Julio Urias earned his 11th win of the season with seven innings of five-hit ball, striking out five and walking one. The bullpen of Ryan Brazier (1 inning of scoreless relief) and Bruce Graterol (1 inning of scoreless relief) kept the game close. Graterol earned his sixth save of the season.
For Miami, starter Braxton Garrett took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits (two home runs) in six innings while striking out six. Despite getting a quality start (six innings or less), he couldn’t get any run support from the offense. It was unfortunate that he gave up back-to-back home runs to Betts. At the plate, Josh Bell hit his 17th home run of the season, but it wasn’t enough in the loss.
Miami opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo home run by Josh Bell.
The Dodgers tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second when Ahmed Rosario doubled and Enrique Hernandez followed with an RBI single.
Miami got on the board in the top of the third when leadoff hitter Nick Fortes was hit by a pitch and John Berti followed with a single. However, the top of the order of Jorge Soler-Luis Araujo-Bell went silent and couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity.카지노사이트
The Dodgers answered in the bottom of the third when leadoff hitter Mookie Betts hit a solo home run to make it 2-1. Betts followed with a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
Miami put runners on second and third in the top of the seventh after Jake Berger singled and Abisail Garcia doubled. But Portes was stranded on a fly ball to left field. In the ninth inning, Burger led off with a single to load the bases for one last chance, but no runs were scored.
