The Korea Women’s Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) announced the 2023 KLPGA regular tour schedule on the 31st. The new season will be the largest ever with 32 competitions, a total prize money of about 31.1 billion won, and an average prize money of 970 million won.
The number of competitions increased by 2 from 30 last season, and the total prize money increased by 2.8 billion won from 28.3 billion won. This is the first time that the total prize money of the KLPGA regular tour season has exceeded 30 billion won. The average prize amount increased by 30 million won from 940 million won last year.

The increase in prize money from tournament sponsors also played a big role in celebrating the biggest season ever. The ‘Chris F&C 45th KLPGA Championship’, which boasts the best history and tradition of KLPGA, raised the total prize money from 1.2 billion won to 1.3 billion won. The ‘2023 Doosan Match Play Championship’, the only match play held in the KLPGA, increased the prize money from 800 million won to 900 million won, and the’Celltrion Queen’s Masters’ from 1 billion won to 1.2 billion won, respectively. ‘Hanwha Classic 2023’ will be held as the highest prize money competition for the new season by raising the prize money from 1.4 billion won to 1.667 billion won.
It is noteworthy that 14 out of 32 tournaments with prize money of over 1 billion won accounted for 43% of the total. The total prize money of 1.2 billion won or more exceeded 28% of all competitions with nine competitions.
This year, 19 competitions have been held consistently for more than 10 times, well over half of them. The tradition and authority of the KLPGA tour is growing as more and more sponsors continue to host the tournament.
The KLPGA Tour 2023 season announced the opening in December of last year with a new tournament, the ‘Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open’, and the ‘PLK Pacific Rings Korea Championship’ was held as the second tournament in Vietnam. ‘Lotte Rental Women’s Open’, the opening match in Korea, will be held in the first week of April.
